Getting the Eco word out!

Today at my church we had the Festival of Tables, which is wonderfully done by our UMW circles and includes a silent auction. I really enjoyed being involved this year and of course, used this opportunity to showcase how truly amazing recycling can be! The plates and silverware were made from recycled milk jugs, the glassware was mason jars, the napkins were bandannas, the sugar/salt/stevia holders were baby food jars, and the centerpiece was my coffee filter bouquet I received for mother's day. Plus, each guest dining at my table received a homemade, organic (mostly) cake pop...Yummy! It was a wonderful experience and a great chance to show all that being eco friendly.

Cell Phones and Bees

Click on this photo for an interesting article about cell phones and the bee population; a population integral to nature that we are fast loosing.

Breastfeeding in Public

I love this! Facebook (oddly, by removing breastfeeding photos they are only fueling the fire) and international commericals like this have been bringing public breastfeeding to light. And while I feel that you shouldn't purposely "overexpose" yourself there is nothing improper or sexual about feeding your child. Let's hope we see commercials more like this one popping up in the US.
